Penobscot Fly Fishers Presents Two Handed Casting Class
Here’s your chance to be introduced to Skagit, Scandi and Longer Bellied Spey casting. We will have inside presentations and on the water demonstrations from Ivan Smith, Mike May and Joe Beaulieu. The class will start with a presentation in the clubhouse with information on the Rods, Lines and Leaders for casting two handed rods and the advantages of two-handed casting. Next will be an on the water demonstration of each one of these styles. You will then have the opportunity to try different rod and line setups with the instructors. Hopefully this will give you enough information as to which one is the best fit for your fishing journey.
When: June 1st - 9am – 3pm Where: Eddington Salmon Club House and Penobscot River Cost: Free limit 12 participants.
If you have ever wanted to learn more about 2 handed fly rods and how to cast them, have we got a deal for you! The Penobscot Fly Fishers are offering a FREE introduction to 2 handed casting/rods on Saturday, June 1st at the Eddington Salmon Club (25 Main Rd, Eddington) from 9 am to 3 pm.
Ivan, Ernie, Joe and crew will be showing you everything you need to know about 2 handed casting/fishing! It isn't just for heavy 14' rods. Many folks are using 3 and 4 weights for trout, salmon and smallmouth!
If you have a 2 handed setup and want to hone your skills, you can bring it. Several rods of various lengths and weights will be available for people to try. Please bring your lunch as lunch is not provided.
Class size is limited to 12 people so please contact Don at 207.478.3173 or [email protected] to register for the class.
Anyone is welcome to bring their own Switch or Spey Rod. Must be 16 years or older and anyone 17 or under must be accompanied by an adult. This class requires you to be comfortable with single hand overhead casting.
