The speaker for our November 5th meeting is Richard “Rich” Yvon is a member of The Maine Native Fish Coalition which is dedicated to the conservation, preservation, and restoration of wild native fish species in Maine, focusing on the challenges they face from invasive species and habitat degradation. He will be speaking on this topic RICHARD "RICH" YVON grew up hunting, fishing and camping. In Maine, Rich was mentored by his Uncle Rodney Corriveau, Registered Master Maine Guide. Hunting, fishing, and trapping the north woods of Maine, became his outdoor canvas which led to becoming a Maine Guide. While in Florida, Rich spent time monitoring manatees with radio tracking transmitters and bass fishing. He was mentored by his Uncle, Walter Young Florida Park Superintendent. Rich is now, a full-time 4-season Registered Master Maine Guide and owner of Twin Maple Outdoors in Bradford, Maine. He guides all types of fishing and outdoor recreation. Rich is an outdoor writer, tree farmer, firearms, and fly fishing instructor. Rich has a deep love and passion for Maine’s unspoiled wilderness and wild native things. Our regular, monthly meetings are on on the first Wednesday of each month. Meal is prepared by PCCA members, is always delicious and is available for purchase $15. Meal purchase is optional - please come to the meeting even if you don't want to purchase the meal.
Penobscot Fly Fishers is a Fly Fishing and 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization that promotes outdoor fishing activities and conservation of our Maine fisheries. We meet at the Penobscot County Conservation Association's clubhouse located at 570 N Main St., Brewer, the first Wednesday of every month, September through June. We have monthly meetings with interesting speakers, annual fly tying classes which start the first week of January thru March, Fly Fishing 101 class every April, local High School fly tying, casting clinics, assist IF&W with fish marking, fish stocking, and of course, fishing!
